What's in the box?

I loved using yesterday's Primrose Petals and lace combination and it gave me the idea for a little gift. Come and have a look:

What do you think? It's ridiculously feminine isn't it?! All lace and pinkness with just a dash of green ribbon to calm things down a little.

The box measures just 4cm square. I decorated it with a flower made with the new Creped Filter Paper which enabled me to get the look of a tissue flower but with a lot more strength! To make it, I layered four flower shapes cut with the Blossom punch and fastened them with a brad in the centre; the petal were ruffled up and the edges dabbed with Primrose Petals ink using a sponge dauber. Have you noticed the lace? It was so easy to wrap it around the box as it's self adhesive - perfect for tiny projects like this one. TIP: This Lace Tape is quite wide, so if you just want a hint of lace as I did here, cutting it in half vertically makes it go further!

Are you wondering what's inside the box? Hang on, I'll just take the lid off...

Oh look - it's a ring of Purest Green (that's a reference for Blackadder fans!)

I made it with one of the small Soda Pop Tops in the new spring/summer catalogue and it was SO easy! First I flattened the pop top in my Big Shot using this sandwich: (from bottom to top) Multi-purpose platform open at tab 1, cutting pad, a piece of cereal packet cardboard, Soda Pop Top sharp bits down against the cardboard, cutting pad. Next I cut circles from a piece of designer paper and layered them with glue, placed them in the Soda Pop Top recess and sealed it in with plenty of Crystal Effects. I let it dry overnight and then, turning the pop top upside down, added crystal effects to the underside and placed the ring blank into it. Next day I wore it all day and I love it to bits!

NOT very pink and lacy at all in fact and much more my kind of thing!

Here's what you'll need for the ring and the box
Stamps: None  (again!)
Ink: Primrose Petals for edging the flower
Card stock: Primrose Petals Core'dination
Punches: 1/2" circle punch, circle from the Itty Bitty punch pack
Other: Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain ribbon, Delicate Details lace tape, Creped Filter Paper, brad, Simply Scored, Big Shot, Soda Pop Tops, Print Poetry designer paper stack, Crystal Effects, ring blank (from stash)

But wait - who is this lunatic, acting the goat with MY ring on? Oh it's me! My husband was taking a photo of me and made me laugh by pretending to be the paparazzi. "Over 'ere love!" he yelled, clicking away. "Come on love - give us a pout!" I just hope the neighbours weren't in!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend, and I'll see you very soon,

PS. I've had a bit of bother with an avalanche of spam over the past couple of days and I do apologise to anyone who has been trying to leave me a comment while I've been trying to sort it out. Bloomin' spam - grrrrr!
