Fine Feathers on a Friday!

I've really enjoyed using Stampin' Up's Fine Feathers stamp set this week and today I wanted to ink up the only image I haven't yet used - the exotic feather. I thought the gorgeous colour palette at the ColourQ would work really well with it and since I haven't played at Mojo Monday in a while I also challenged myself to use this week's sketch - plenty of boundaries there! Here's what I came up with:

Fine Feathers from Stampin' Up

I pierced a border round my woodgrain-embossed panel before adding a strip of ribbon and a plain, ribbon-tailed strip of card stock. The peacock feather and sentiment were layered over the top.

Peacock feather stamp

I adore this feather! It was stamped in Midnight Muse ink, then coloured with my aquapainter and the other colours inks. I used my indispensable sharp paper snips to cut it out - fiddly but fun!

Itty Bitty Banners from Stampin' Up

The sentiment is from the fabulous Itty Bitty Banners stamp set (get this free with the Sale-a-bration promotion!) The rubber of the stamp was coloured with markers before stamping and cutting it out. If you're not a fan of wielding the scissors though, Stampin' Up have kindly produced framelits which make cutting the sentiments out in this stamp set a doddle!

Here are the colours and the sketch I was following today. There's always heaps of inspiration at both sites - do pop over and have a look!

The picture in the middle of my post made me giggle because my daughter is in the habit of saying 'thank' instead of 'thank you' (for reasons best known to herself!) The trouble is that she says it a lot and it's extremely catching - the boys began saying it  and then, finding it amusing, I began to say it too, to make them laugh. The only trouble is, I don't even know I'm saying it now... so if you get a card or email from me saying 'Thank', you'll know why!

Have a great weekend
