The masked framelit...

Just popping in with a quick card for this week's Less is More challenge which is Masking or Stencilling. I'm a huge fan of masking and there are all kinds of effects you can get with this technique, but I've opted for what is probably the simplest: cutting a shape with a punch or framelit and sponging ink into the negative space that's left. Come and see:

Stampin' Up's beautiful Deco Label framelits coordinate with the You're Lovely stamp set, just one of the products you can choose as a free gift with an order of £45 or more during Sale-a-bration. I cut a label that was a bit bigger than the stamp I wanted to use and sponged So Saffron ink into it. The stamp was coloured with markers before stamping over the top, and I stamped it again on a scrap of card stock so that I could cut out the daffs and pop them up over the top.

Here's a close up... aren't those daffs just gorgeous?! To finish the card, I added a touch of So Saffron marker at the sides of the sponged and stamped label shapes to add a bit of dimension, stapled a piece of stitched grosgrain ribbon to the top to make it look like a tag and added a sentiment from Peaceful Petals that fit the shape of the daffs beautifully - in fact I did the same with a sentiment from Sassy Salutations earlier this week so it looks as if those daffs are just the right shape for sentiments!

• Sale-a-bration ends 31st March so if you'd like to take advantage of the free gifts, do get in touch with me before then! Click here and turn to pages 10-15 to see all the fabulous gifts available.
