Hello crafting friends!
I have a quick, seasonal note card to show you today. Come and see:
The stamp I chose is from Spring Daffodils by Clearly Besotted. I stamped it onto a card panel cut with a Heffy Doodles stitched rectangle die and coloured the flowers with alcohol markers.
Yellow, orange and green is such a fresh colour combination for spring, don't you think? And yes, it IS a spring card - I refuse to have anything more to do with winter!
The blocky sentiment (from Simply Said Blocks II, Uniko) has been stamped in a stamping platform to get a really good solid black. I cut it out and mounted it on strips of coloured card stock the same size.
CHALLENGES
This week's colour palette at CAS Colours and Sketches is a favourite of mine so I couldn't wait to get going with it! I was also inspired by the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. That semi-circular shape immediately made me think of these daffodils and I really loved the strips at the bottom of it.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
The latest in the saga of the broken oven is that I made a lovely slow cooker tarragon chicken yesterday and a nice spicy stove-top chilli this evening which will stretch to tomorrow. But then I nipped into the supermarket on autopilot to buy something for a busy Friday evening and fell at the final fence... And there are now pizzas in my fridge! Can you grill a pizza?!!

ReplyDeleteI shall dedicate this card to you then Deborah! xx
DeleteOH! I LOVE those daffodils, Spring has certainly come on your card Vicky. My daffodils are doing well (still) even though the rain and wind are doing their best to make them fall.
ReplyDeleteYour food sounds yummy, you are excused an occasional "ready meal" LOL.

... AND I shall also dedicate this card to you Faith as it's also your national flower! I'm quite happy to allow myself a pizza but how on earth am I going to cook it?!!! x

ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanne! My favourite colours for spring :)
DeleteWell I've grilled pizza before and its it's been ok . . . It was only a thin base one tho! Just don't turn it on full whack first of all go Med fir a few minutes then High heat for a couple of mins!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card? Full of Spring loveliness . . . Who can resist daffs? They're like sunshine in a flower!
Hyg xxx
Really? Well I'm going to give it a go. I think I might grill the base first and then add the toppings and grill it again.
DeleteI totally agree about daffs - they're like a hug in flower form!
Much!

Oh yes, I'll have some daffodils, please! These are beautiful, and I recognized that sketch right away!! And yes, I believe you CAN grill pizza!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteAhhh - hugs to you too LeAnne!
DeleteI didn't have to grill the pizza in the end - when I read the manual I found that the grill part of the oven doubles up as a second oven!!
What a pretty card, the daffodils make me long for spring. Thanks for playing along with us at CC&S.
ReplyDeleteThanks Samantha!
