Wreath for a birthday

Hello crafting friends!

Faced with the grim Coronavirus news, I've never been more grateful for the therapeutic qualities of crafting and the comfort of a supportive online crafting community. I have a cold and of course feel it's very important not to go near anyone, but no-one is going to get it hanging out with me here so I've been joining in with some fun challenges :) Come and see what I've been making:

Your Perfect Day is a long-ago retired wedding set from Stampin' Up that I love and use quite a lot - and usually not for weddings! It features a twiggy wreath, complete with leaves and today, I decided to stamp it and fussy cut it - madness I know!

I added some punched flowers, decorated with tiny, silver, liquid pearl centres, and a bow, die cut from silver card stock using MFT's Birthday Cocktail die set.

The textured grey card panel was attached low on the card front to leave part of the white base showing above it. I added another strip of white card stock for extra interest and chose a tab-like sentiment from Uniko's Simply Said Blocks.

CHALLENGES
The inspiration for this card came from the photo at Inspired By - and boy, was I! I'm also linking up with Seize The Birthday where they're looking for A Touch of Green and Addicted to CAS where the Code Word is Circle. Also, As You See It, where the theme is My Favourite Type Of Card To Send Is ___ and you fill in the blank.  I love sending any type of card but I probably send more birthday cards than any other except for Christmas (and I'm holding off on Christmas cards for a bit!)

AND IN OTHER NEWS
Another thing I'm incredibly grateful for is my little fluffy pal :)

She's a very relaxing companion but always up for fun and games, happy to hand out floofy cuddles with extra hen noises, and sets a brilliant example of how to live in the moment. Good girl Eva!

How about you? What are you grateful for today?

Hugs,

  1. Hello! you are the queen of fussy cutting ~ you do such a great job, I think you should do a video of how you do it. Eva does have the right idea ~ just chill world ~ be smart and take a nap!
I'm working on a tag made out of postage stamps at the moment I'm taking a break to let it dry. I'm grateful that it's not winter with all this going on and for positive and creative people ~ Blessings and well wishes!

    1. If I made a fussy cutting video I think I could market it as one of those 'Get to sleep in 5 minutes' ones! Eva is good at napping but I think she thinks I sleep far too much :/ Can't wait to see your tag! I'm grateful for positivity too. Keep well Karen!

  2. The fussy cutting may be been madness but oh so worth it. The wreath makes a real statement tucked up in the top corner like that. Very pretty, Vicky. Thank you for playing along with us again at As You See It.

    1. Thanks Kath. It's not troubling me in any way really, just a sore throat and needing to blow my nose - definitely nothing sinister but not something I want to spread to others. Keep well! x

Oh to be a happy-go-lucky dog in a good home at the moment! Still, we can ALL learn something from Eva I reckon!

    1. Very true - she is my mentor! (Apart from the stealing doughnuts from teenage boys bit. Oh and making piles of shoes, I don't think I'll start that!)
