Hello crafting friends!
I've been getting more and more interested in the relationship between ink and water and today, I brought my re-inkers out and had a bit of a play. Come and see:
This is my final version, after lots ofmessy failures experiments! I ended up painting a splodge of water on a card panel, allowing an ink drop to fall onto it and 'bloom', then blotting it with a tissue. I repeated these steps with each colour to make my background.
I added a sentiment from Stampin' Up's Beautiful You, which I thought would work well with the bright colours and is also a great observation for these weird times. I was going to add some enamel dots but I just didn't think it needed anything else.
EDITED TO ADD AN AWARD
So happy that this card was a pick at Freshly Made Sketches :)
CHALLENGES
I'm linking up with Freshly Made Sketches, where I was inspired by the inky looking sketch (I turned it upside down because I thought the sentiment looked better on this bit of my inky background.) I'm also joining in with Less is More, where the theme is Scribbles, Drips and/or Splats; Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge where Anything Goes; and Addicted to Stamps and More where it's a Make Your Mark challenge this week.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
This is the innocent face of a golden retriever who was walking nicely along the side of the canal this morning until she saw a black lab on the other side, and who then leapt into the water, swam across to the other side and made hen noises at said lab!!
It turned out to be a dog we used to meet in the park and walk with - he was being walked by his owner's husband who I hadn't met. It was nice to meet him, and we had a chat across the width of the canal, although whether he actually needed a shower from my dog is debatable!
How's your weekend going?

Nothing else is needed at all, Vicky! This is perfect as is!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Bonnie!
DeleteI LOVE this card Vicky. Such a wonderful sentiment and I love the way the ink has spread to give those super cheery colours. I bet Eve was so excited to see her friend xx
ReplyDeleteIn earlier versions, the ink ran into each other and made muddy messes which is why I did each bloom separately :)
DeletePoor old Eva does miss her pals.
xx
Great collection of colours and a fab sentiment.

Thanks Kath! x
DeleteFabulous splashes of color and what a fun card design it made. Your golden retriever certainly looks innocence but from your story has a little devil in her.
ReplyDeleteHugs Diane
She has the most innocent little face doesn't she! She's very intelligent and I think she thinks I must have made a mistake when I say 'no' in certain circumstances. It must be hard to be a dog and have to live by human rules!
DeleteBeautiful card, and dog!😊
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! Eva IS a beauty isn't she!
DeleteYou have mastered those tricky watercolor spots perfectly! I can never seem to get them quite right! This is amazing! And look at the innocent look on Miss Eva's face...she was just being friendly, LOL!
ReplyDeleteThere was a lot of experimentation LeAnne and a lot of Tidy Up Time!
DeleteA wonderful sentiment, Vicky! Lovely CAS card with those wonderfully bright happy colours! Take care! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen, you too :)
DeleteVery colourful and very CAS. Lobe it! xxx
ReplyDeleteVery fun to make too! xxx
DeleteEyecatcher!!! And funny dog ;)
ReplyDeleteLol, she is a funny one :)
DeleteBeautiful card. I'm sure Eva showers are the best? xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey can be a bit fragrant - and not in a good way! xx
DeleteOH! I love this vibrant rainbow card Vicky, so bright and cheery, also a Super sentiment. Had to laugh at Eves travel. She is very sociable.
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and well.

She really is sociable - people and dogs, she has to know everything that's going on and she's positive her public want to greet her too! x
