Hello, crafting friends!
Thursday has come around again and with it comes a whole bunch of inspiration courtesy o the Tic Tac Toe challenge! Felicita had Thanksgiving on her mind when coming up with this board but, as usual, the suggestions work brilliantly for other occasions too.
I chose the right hand column for my Christmas card - Any Shape Die/Wreath/Gold Foil or Glitter. This card was created mostly from embossing and die cuts with only the sentiment being stamped.
I partially embossed a square panel with a Honeycomb embossing folder from Hobbycraft, then layered a die cut wreath from Stampin' Up over the top.
The wreath was decorated with glittery gold baubles and red berries cut from snippets of paper and I added a die cut bow from a cocktail set by MFT.
The card was finished with touches of gold glitter glue, white highlights on the berries and a stamped sentiment from Uniko.
Right! It's over to you :) Which row or column will you choose this week? Or will you go for one of the diagonals? Do hop over to the Tic Tac Toe challenge site and check out all the fabulous inspiration from my team mates. You'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post and you can use it to link up your own creation. Have fun - we can't wait to see what you make!
CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up at the Snippets Playground where we are invited to make cards with snippets: m card panel was from a spoilt card base, and all the die-cut and punched items were cut from off-cuts. I'm also joining in with Let's Squash It where the challenge is Make a Christmas Card, and Can Yyou Handle The Pressure where Anything Embossed Goes with optional theme of Wreaths. The challenge at Sparkles Monthly Challenge is to Use Dies and Punches so I'm joining in there, and I'm also playing along at Happy Little Stampers Die challenge where Anything Using Dies Goes.
AND IN OTHER NEWS
I love a wreath and my whole world was rocked when my sister showed me how to make one with just bits and pieces from the garden! Here's one of my favourite photos of my youngest son admiring my (slightly wonky) creation a few years ago!
My sister and I enjoyed making wreaths together so much we decided to make it a regular run-up to Christmas event :) Do you have any annual rituals as the festive season draws nearer? Do share in the comments below!
A beautiful Christmas wreath, the gold baubles sparkle against the red and green of the berries and leaves. The whole family usually go out to an independent local cinema on Christmas Eve to see an old Christmas film, sadly the cinema closed a few weeks ago. Youngest son has tickets for us to see a filmed version of the stage show a Christmas Carol with Mark Gatiss it's only showing on November 27 and I think December 1st,so too early to be a Christmas treat
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS Christmas card, Vicky! I love the wreath as the focal image and the textured background is wonderful. Thank you for playing with us at the HLS Die Challenge and hope you can join in again soon.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely sentiment on this fabulous snippets card. Gorgeous sparkly wreath.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. Once you've finished playing on the swing, come up to the Treehouse for a nice warm mug of hot chocolate (plus marshmallow sprinkles). xxx

DAR’S CRAFTY CREATIONS
PS ... what a fun/fabulous tradition you & your sister have created ... your wonky wreath looks JUST FINE to me! LOL Well done!!
WOW! This is stunning Vicky. Great photo of your son and your wonderful work.
ReplyDeleteAnnual rituals? Err, too many to name I'm afraid. Oooh, baking our own sausage rolls using my Mum's recipe with a teensy bit of grated onion mixed into the pork sausage meat is a must - as well as cooking the ham/gammon joint in Coca Cola. Why is it always food with me? Gorgeous card Vicky - who doesn't love a nice Christmas wreath! Very classy.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Di xx
A beautiful wreath on the card and on the gate, Vicky! I've made wreaths from ivy vines and let them dry outside. When the leaves fell off, I had a fine wreath to hang inside. Our big tradition is Cookie Day where all my daughters and some of the grandkids get together to bake, decorate and pig out on sweets.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a stunning Christmas card! I love your die cut wreath design and the detail that you added with the die cut ribbon and berries; the sparkle is amazing 😊. Thanks so much for joining our Die Cuts and/or Punches challenge over at Sparkles Monthly Challenge and sending you happy wishes! Hugs Jo x

ReplyDeleteYour card is full of the most perfect details. This is just stunning. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the HLS Die challenge!
ReplyDeleteI love the glittery baubles amongst the berries that decorate your wreath Vicky and the partially embossed white panel is so effective (says she as she tucks this idea away to use at a later date!) Beautiful! Love your handmade foliage wreath too; I sometimes make my own, but my favourite tradition is to bake gingerbread and ice it - yummy!

Nothing says Christmas like a beautiful wreath, Vicky and this one is just gorgeous! Love the gold spakle and the texture in the background of the card. You are a clever bean to be able to make the real thing too and I can see why your son loved it!
