Spring card using hostess set

One of the lovely things about becoming a Stampin' Up demonstrator is that I know what it's like to be a customer. I'll never forget the first time I was a hostess, nervous that my guests wouldn't turn up or that they wouldn't enjoy themselves. My worries were foundless - we had an absolute hoot that evening - and the icing on the cake was that not only did I get free products for being a hostess but I also got to choose one of the beautiful hostess sets too.

I only mention this because my card today has been made using a hostess set from the current ideas book called Itty Bitty Buds (see it here). The set contains no less that 14 stamps and I think it's incredibly versatile. Here's the card I made with it today:

The things I'm pleased with are the sponging (I am a sponging addict!), the popped up flowers and also the butterfly - he is actually a flower! - with the doodled flight path. The thing I'm not pleased with are the fact the brads and the ribbon don't match (I can't wait for my Stampin' Up kit where everything coordinates!)

Supplies (All Stampin' Up unless specified):
Stamps: Itty Bitty Buds (Level 2 hostess set)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Pink Passion
Cardstock: Whisper White, Ballet Blue, Rose Red
Other: Eyelets, brads and ribbon (from stash), Not Quite Navy stampin' write.

I've got lots of other ideas for this set so I'll be using it again tomorrow.
Hope to see you then.

  1. Vicky, love the card. Great sponging (you really are good at it, so no wonder you like to do it!) and very unique treatment with the ribbon, eyelets, and "belt". Also, congratulations on your decision to become a Stampin' Up demonstrator. Hope you have lots of fun with it!!
