The feminine side of Autumn Meadows

I was talking to a friend about my favourite Autumn Meadows designer paper a couple of days ago and she said she wasn't inspired by it as she preferred making feminine cards. Well - I considered that a gauntlet flung down! So today is all about the feminine side of Autumn Meadows.

The first uses that beautiful blue leaf paper - there's such movement in this design, I love it! I've matted it onto Chocolate Chip card stock, stamped a swirly sentiment on it and added a butterfly coloured in Tempting Turquoise with a flash of Melon Mambo using a blender pen. The panel is attached to the card base with dimensionals - I'm loving that look at the moment. By the way, I think EVERYONE should have the All a Flutter stamp - it's only £4.95 and is so useful!)

The butterfly card is feminine in a restrained way but the second card is unashamedly so.

I've made a picket fence with the blue-ish woodgrain paper, attaching it to Very Vanilla card stock matted onto Tempting Turquoise. The Always Artichoke leaves were punched using the two step bird punch and arranged in an intertwining way on the picket fence. (TOP TIP: If you cut strips of card stock 2.5 cm wide you can punch leaves without having to cut the bird and wing too.) The flowers are made by punching circles from Apricot Appeal card stock, crumpling them and splitting them so that you get thin disks of soft paper. They are cut in a spiral and rolled up loosely from the outside then sponged at the edges with Melon Mambo ink. I finished the card by tying some Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon round one of the fence pieces and attaching tags with gold elastic card.

Here's a close-up.

  1. Definately very feminine. I can`t see what`s not feminine about leafy papers. And those flowers look very tempting too...mmm might have to give them a go.

  4. Oh, my. You have given me no shortage of things to comment on as I catch up! Great idea to show the feminine side of the papers; you were completely successful. And those roses on the second card? Fabulous! They remind me of the Peace rose that was one of my dad's favorites in his rose garden -- kind of a peachy yellow with a touch of pink. Beautiful! Great idea to use the two tags together like that for the sentiment, too.
