Another Happy Watercolour moment

Good morning! Yes it is me but with a bit of a make-over! There are still one or two changes to be made but the idea is to clear the clutter and make it easy for you to see the projects and, if you enjoy them, to invest in these wonderful products yourself.

Are you enjoying the new seasonal catalogue? There are so many fabulous new stamp sets and since that's my greatest crafting pleasure, I'm currently in a stamping paradise! Come and see a card I made with the Happy Watercolour stamp set:

There are so many reasons you're going to love this set: The wonderful splodge images that make creating water colour effects so easy; the abstract dots; the gorgeous flowers you can enjoy colouring in a multitude of ways; the fab sentiments... Oh just get it! Trust me, you will love it!

For this card, the background was stamped first and the flowers over the top, coloured them with markers. I scored a border round the panel and stuck it to a mount made from one of the Sweet Sayings card bases I'd previously made a mistake on - well, waste not, want not!

A nice bold sentiment works well here. I've used a thank you from Four You, a real favourite of mine, but only because I couldn't find my Simply Celebrate set (I won't show you pictures but I'm sure you can imagine the state of my desk!)

Here's what you'll need to make this project
Stamps: Happy Watercolour, Four You
Ink: Gumball Green, Early Espresso classic inks, plus markers
Card stock: Whisper White, Sweet Sayings card bases
Other: Simply scored, stamp-a-majig

My youngest son and I found ourselves in the car for quite a long time yesterday - the perfect opportunity for reminiscing together!  I noticed his jeans were looking a bit thin on the knees and our conversation turned to the time we overcame his reluctance to buy new jeans with a game of Trouser Factor. First we selected a whole bunch of trousers and my son tried them on while I made Simon Cowell-style remarks. "I've seen better slacks on the back end of a pantomime horse!" or "Very stylish - you're definitely through to the next round!" Once we'd narrowed them down to just two pairs we had the Final (he tried them on again!) and found our winner and runner up - both of which were as successful as each other, just like in the real X Factor!

See you tomorrow,

  5. Beautiful card Vicky, and I love your "mistake" mount - it's just perfect!
I look back and cringe at the styles of trousers my son went through - very baggy complete with bicycle chain attachments to ultra skinny that looked as though they might have been sprayed on. Aahhh children!
