Happy Watercolour poppies

It's been great fun road testing Stampin' Up's Happy Watercolour stamp set this week. If you're looking for a versatile set with background stamps to create interesting effects with, as well as two beautiful flower images and three sentiments I can really recommend this one! Come and see my latest creation:

This time I thought I'd try using a combination of colours to stamp the watercolour splodge. I chose So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding and carried on the soft, feminine look by using Naturals Ivory card stock for my card base.

The poppy image was stamped twice and I extended the stems a little with the fine end of a marker. I used markers to colour the image too, blending several different yellows for the flower heads to intensify the colour.

I added a bold sentiment from Four You and scored a banner around it using my Simply Scored tool for the straight lines and a chevron from the Borders plate for the ribbon tail.

• I've had lots of messages from readers telling me they wish I'd do more videos and I have listened! As well as 3D project tutorials, I'm running a series of quick card videos called Quick as a Wink as well as a Back to Basics series on subjects like how to use a stamp-a-majig, tie a flat knot etc. My first Quick as a Wink video went live yesterday - do have a look and tell me what you think!

Here's what you'll need to make this project
Ink: Early Espresso, So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding classic inks, plus markers

It was parents' evening at school yesterday and I was there with my youngest son to talk to teachers about his progress. I wish you could have seen the face of one of his teachers when my son kicked off the proceedings by telling her kindly that he thought she was a very good teacher and he thoroughly enjoyed her lessons!

Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you very soon,
