I decided to use one of Stampin' Up's free Sale-a-bration sets, called You're Lovely, with a bit of masking. The label stamp was stamped first and I used the negative mask to cover the outside area so that I could sponge Soft Sky ink inside - I'm a big fan of this colour too Chrissie! The daffodils were coloured with markers next and the label was then covered with the positive mask enabling me to stamp the row of flowers repeatedly to form a background.
I spent quite a lot of time on the details of this card - giving the label and flowers a little shadow and colouring the background flowers with a blender pen and ink; using a stamp-a-majig to adjust the sentiment (which normally has the words side by side); and adding the gems.
The You're Lovely stamp set is just one of many Sale-a-brations gifts that you can choose for free with any order of £45. Isn't it gorgeous?! Click here to see all the other Sale-a-bration goodies.

Hi Vicky
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely - a very serene card. The clever shading really adds depth - hard to believe it's a one layer card!

ReplyDeleteSo pretty and fresh, another gorgeous card, Vicky. Yes, our daffs are coming on, and I bought a bunch from the market too, I love them. The shops have Valentines Day and Easter merchandise vying for shelf space, I don't want any of it, just the daffs will do me! xxx
ReplyDeleteGrrrrr to Mr Blogger! I seem to have been excommunicated from your followers list and was wondering if you were OK as I hadn't seen any of your posts - then I saw this on LIM so came to look - have now 'followed' you again.
ReplyDeleteLovely Easter card and have just treated myself to the Watercolour Set below so am looking forward to a play with that too!
Gorgeous card, beautifully done. (you know I love Daffodils)
ReplyDeleteFunny I was going to take a photo of our daffs nearly flowering today, but too much rain, hail and snow :)
Vicky this is simply stunning - the masking and stamping are amazing! You have manage to make it look like it's got layers even though it hasn't! Fab! Nx
