Big birthday wishes

Hello, crafting friends!

It's Thursday and that means it's time for a new Tic Tac Toe challenge! Betty is in charge of the board this week and as usual, you could use the inspiration to go in many different directions.

I wanted to road-test my new huge Lawn Fawn birthday sentiment die, so I chose the left-hand diagonal - Die Cut/Free/Large Sentiment. I used Embellishment as my option for the Free sqyuare. I started by taking a square white card base, masking off the edges with low tack tape and sponging green/blue ink into it. Once the tape was removed I moved onto the die cutting.

I make quite a lot of one layer cards and so naturally (ahem) I have quite a lot of spoilt card bases! I die cut my big sentiment twice using some of those and then cut another one from a yellow off-cut. The yellow one was given the ombré treatment with some alcohol markers, then adhered in an offset way to the stacked up white ones.

One of my favourite colour combinations is yellow, green and orange and I thought it would make a nice bright summery card. I die cut leaves from a variety of green snippets and tucked them behind the sentiment. When I was satisfied with the positioning, I glued everything in place and embellished with some bright orange enamel dots.

Okay so now it's your turn! Which column or row appeals to you? And don't forget you can use those diagonals if you prefer! Do hop over to the Tic Tac Toe challenge site and admire the rest of the team's beautiful samples. You'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post and you can use it to share your creation with us. Have fun!

CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up at The Snippets Playground as I used lots of snippets of coloured and white card; I'm also joining in at Happy Little Stampers Die Challenge where Anything Goes with Dies; I've not used this wonderful big die before so I'm sharing at Darnell's NBUS challenge where we show off our Never Before Used Schtuff.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
I have been walking 'The Smol Horse' all this week and although Eva continues to ignore her efforts to play, she did place herself in front of the pup when a charming but boisterous young lab came over to investigate. Subtle behaviour, but I believe she was protecting a member of 'her gang'. And for anyone that could do with some sweetness on a Thursday evening...

... here's a photo of The Smol Horse. How adorable is she?!!

Sending hugs,

  9. Wonderful card using the gorgeously huge die! A 'classy' result. Isn't The Smol Horse adorable?! It led me to read about The Smol Horse which is a 16" tall pygmy horse currently living in a family home along with pooches - so heart warming.

    Hugs

I found the solution how I comment again with my google account. I will publish a blog post about this tomorrow for anyone having the same problem.
