Rose Gold

Hello, crafting friends!
It's lovely to be back with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge today. Betty has come up with this fun board to spark your creativity:
I'm obviously missing the Christmas sparkle, so I chose the middle row, Floral/Free/Sparkle, to make a feminine birthday card full of shimmer and shine!
I started by stamping Uniko's Pin Stripe background directly onto a thick card base and heat embossing with gold embossing powder. I topped it with a piece of gold glimmer paper, trimmed to the same width but half the height, with the bottom corners curved with a corner rounder. The roses, from WPlus9's Modern Roses stamp set, were stamped, coloured with pink coloured pencils and fussy cut.

The card was put together collage-style, with a gold-embossed sentiment label from Uniko's Simply Said Blocks, and some pale pink sequins for even more sparkle!

So now it's over to you! What column or row grabs your attention this week? Or will you opt for one of the diagonals? Do hop over to the Tic Tac Toe challenge site and take a look at my team mates' wonderful samples. You'll find the Linky Tool at the bottom of the post and can use it to share your own creation with us. We can't wait to see what you make!

I was inspired by the colours at Color Hues so I'm linking up there; I'm also joining in at Stamping Sensations where the challenge is to Add Sparkle.

Not only has the river burst its banks but it has continued to rain and today I couldn't get to our favourite spot by the river. I popped the dogs back in the Dogmobile and drove to a different access point further up river, but it was all flooded up there too. So I took the dogs on a walk across the higher fields that is usually quite boring; not today though!
The walk was transformed by streams and pools that had formed and Eva and Murph the spaniel ran and swam and chased each other and careered about like kids on a day out at Waterworld!! Can you see the joy on my water baby's face?!

Sending hugs,

  1. An elegant birthday card with a wonderful sparkle of gold, the roses look beautiful against the background panel.A layout that would be suitable for many occasions.

  2. A very classy combination, it looks stunning. And nice to see how much fun Eva had!!!

  3. The card is gorgeous with all its sparkly beauty! Love those colors! And look at that PUDDLE!! It's definitely Eva-sized!

  4. That girl is incorrigible when it comes to water, but what fun. Our senior girl daisy in improving but at twelve and a half it's slow.

Your card certainly has the feminine elegant feel, beautifully done, thanks so much for sharing with us at Stamping Sensations January sparkle theme.

    B x

  5. Gorgeous glitzy girly card Vicky! Love it.

Yes, Eva does look pretty pleased with the sploshy watery walk you chose. xxx

  6. Vicky... not sure if I told you how much I love the sparkle on your card! Your golden baby is beautiful... isn't it crazy how much they love the water? I am always amazed that Archie, my baby, has never jumped into the intercoastal. His BFF is a golden who lives directly across from us. The two of them will sit on their respective docks and howl at each other... it is so funny. But both have contained their swimming to our pools and the beach. Thankfully! I am sure your two love the warm toasty towels after the swim in new found water!

  7. Your card is pure elegance, Vicky! The roses bedded on the beautiful gold base and striped background. Thrilled to have you in the gallery at Color Hues. Also, Eva looks like she is in heaven.

  8. Lovely card Vicky, the roses are beautiful and the gold background is the perfect backdrop!

  9. Beautiful color combo and card, Vicky! xoxo

  10. This card is properly sparkly - fabulous! The pink roses add a soft, feminine touch - such a lovely card! As for those pups - what madness and fun in equal measure!

  11. Very elegant and feminine card Vicky! I love the sparkly panel under the delicately colored roses. Warm greetings, Rosi

  12. Super sparkly and super pretty! Thank you for joining in with the challenge at Stamping Sensations with this delightful card. Hugs, Lesley
