Wedding card using Perfect Punches

After the explosion of colour in my last post I felt I should be a little more restrained today!

My cousin recently married his lovely girlfriend and this is the card I made for them to celebrate the occasion. I love this calm colour combination - Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand. The En Français background stamp was stamped onto the Sahara Sand card stock with Sahara Sand ink.

Have you seen this beautiful sentiment stamp from the new Perfect Punches stamp set? One of the things I love about the new catalogue is that all the stamps that have a coordinating punch are clearly marked. Here the sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, cut out with the Modern Label punch and mounted on an oval cut out with the Large Oval punch. The whole thing has been layered onto folded taffeta ribbon.

I used more taffeta ribbon, in Pretty in Pink this time, to make the rosebud. I adore the taffeta ribbon and it's fantastic to see it in so many more colours. In fact, most of the ribbons are now available in the ten core colours - Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy, Basic Black, Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White - as well as Very Vanilla.

The ribbon was rolled and secured it with Snail, then wrapped in part of a Certainly Celery flower cut with the Boho Blossoms punch. I added leaves with the two-step bird punch and then tucked the flower under the sentiment.

Supplies
Stamps: En Français, Perfect Punches
Ink: Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery
Other: Taffeta ribbon in Very Vanilla and Pretty in Pink, Modern Label, Large Oval, Boho Blossoms and Two-Step Bird punches

I think this card is a perfect example of how useful the punches are. You will use them again and again in your projects. I was once advised to add an ink pad every time I made an order - very sound advice as I soon built up a great range of colours - and I would suggest adding a punch too.

Hope you had a great weekend. My daughter and I spent ours updating our wardrobes in Oxford. We had loads of fun and are now ready for anything the British weather is preparing to throw at us this winter!
Thank you for dropping in to see me today.
Hope to see you tomorrow.

  2. Hi Vicky - gorgeous work again - I love your sophisticated style of crafting. Funnily enough though I was at a catalogue launch party yesterday and I thought - must stock up on some ink pads - I've ordered the new Baja Breeze and the fab Elegant Soiree papers. Can't wait for them to arrive! - Jacqueline xx
