Colour notes

Hello, crafting friends!

Have you joined in with the colour challenge at The Flower Challenge this month?  Why not give it a go?

All you need to do is create a floral card using these colours. I love this palette and couldn't wait to make another card using it.

Believe it or not, my clean and simple note card was made with a balloon stencil and a Christmas stamp set as well as my favourite leafy stencil! Love stretching my craft supplies!

I took a thick card base and started by sponging pale blue ink into the circular balloon from Uniko's Balloon Bash stencil, masking off the balloon tie bit with a sticky note.  The sentiment, from The Greetery's Pine Blossom, was stamped in the centre. There are two sizes of leaf on Uniko's Nature's Treasure stencil and I used them both, positioning them above and below my sentiment circle and sponging with green ink.

I used water-based markers in pinks and peaches to ink up some of the pretty flowers from the Pine Blossom set. Once they were stamped, I blended the colours with a colourless blender pen, adding detail with a green coloured pencil and a white paint pen. Finally, the flowers were fussy cut and attached to the leaf stems.

Okay, now it's over to you! Do hop over to the Flower Challenge challenge blog and check out the amazing samples the design team has made to inspire you. When you're ready to share your own floral creation, use the blue Linky button at the bottom of the challenge post. We can't wait to see what you make!

CHALLENGES
I'm linking up with the latest Beautiful Blossoms challenge with this card.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
Thank you for bearing with me during this busy time when I'm still not finding much time for crafting. Eva's paw is taking its time healing so I am still walking the pups separately, as well as looking after this beautiful lady:

But I do have another post going live later on today as it's my turn to be on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge team. It's like waiting for ages for a bus and then a load of them turn up all at once!!

Sending hugs,

Springtime balloons

Hello, crafting friends!

I have new babies in my head at the moment and a combination of that and some of my favourite challenges produced this card:

It's not a new idea - I know The Greetery has a stamp set featuring flower-filled balloons and SU once had one filled with stars; but it was fun to come up with my own version using the Balloon Bash stencil from Uniko and some flowers and leaves from Stampin' Up and Waffle Flower that were out on my table. I started by stenciling the taller balloon in yellow ink and masking off the outer section with a sticky note mask. I was then able to stamp the flowers and leaves. Next came the pink balloon which I positioned over the yellow one. I sponged the ink very faintly where they overlapped so it would look as if the pink balloon was behind the yellow one. Again, I masked off the outer section and stamped flowers and leaves inside the balloon, using second and third generation stamping for a more faded look.

The balloons were cut out using my sharp paper snips and I tied little cotton bows to the bottom of each. To assemble the card I die cut a white panel with a stitched rectangle die from Heffy Doodle and attachde it to a card front. Finally, I stamped a sentiment in grey ink and popped the balloons up with dimensional pads.

CHALLENGES
I'm joining in at Allsorts where Mervi's optional theme this week is Balloons, Cupcake Inspirations where the beautiful inspiration photo set me going and Day of the Month Card Club where they want to see us use Two of Something; my colour palette came from Color Dare #597 and since Color Hues have also got a Pink and Yellow theme this fortnight, I'm linking up there again.

AND IN OTHER NEWS
I'm posting this photo especially for my pal Gundi at Papierelle. She is on the design team of Day of the Month Card Club challenge so she will hopefully be amused at seeing double!

My little twins - but which one is which?! Lulu is getting so fluffy these days that I sometimes get them mixed up!

Gundi has a pair of gorgeous dogs herself and if you like hearing about Eva and Lulu, you're sure to enjoy the antics that Kaito and Kamo get up to! Gundi is also a wonderfully creative crafter who makes cards and other fabulous projects so do go and check out her blog HERE - you'll be glad you did!

Floating up with birthday wishes

Hello, crafting friends!

Happy Thursday and welcome to a large helping of fabulous inspiration courtesy of the latest Tic Tac Toe Challenge! Here's this week's board:

I could have gone with any of the rows OR columns this week but in the end I opted for the left-hand column Stencil//Any Color Ink/Birthdayy. I did borrow the balloon idea as well because I really wanted to give my new Balloon Bash stencil from Uniko a whirl!

I started by stencilling the round balloon on a card panel using pink and green inks and used a grey pencil to doodle in some strings and a white pencil to add some 'shine'. The panel was then trimmed with a stitched rectangle die by Heffy Doodle.

I added a die cut birthday sentiment from Avery Elle's A Tag For All and embellished with tiny die cut hearts from the Dinky Die House by X Cut. The panel was attached to a grey card base.

I had so much fun making this card and now it's your turn! You'll find lots of gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the X Team at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge site. You'll also find the Linky Tool so that you can link up your own creation. The winner will have the opportunity to guest with us :)

CHALLENGES
I'm linking this card up with Happy Little Stampers Stencil challenge where Anything Goes; I'm also playing along with Time Out Challenge where they want to see coloured card bases with an optional twist of adding embellishments - I hope my die cut hearts count :)

AND IN OTHER NEWS
It just happens to be International Dog Day today *laughs gently*. Of course it is International Dog Day EVERY day in our house and my beautiful girl knows it :)

We have taken a selfie to mark the occasion and we may have a rousing game of 'Hunt the Dried Sprat' in the garden later!
